Performancewear with heart

Recently, I’ve found myself reassessing the one area of my wardrobe where my commitment to natural fibres tends to falter -gymwear. Like many of us, most of my older pieces are synthetic blends, chosen for stretch and convenience rather than long-term health or environmental consideration. Lately, I’ve been exploring better-quality alternatives: merino wool engineered for performance, organic cotton blends, more considered bamboo options, and brands that are transparent about dyes, finishes and chemical processes. There isn’t a perfect solution -some stretch still requires elastane- but there are thoughtful options worth considering if you’re looking to reduce synthetic exposure without sacrificing function.
I’ve written a free piece about the journey I’m embarking on which you can read here.
